Finding LOVE in Tokyo - Part I
Tokyo – a mega city where 12,570,000 people call home. I have been one of them for a little over a year. Many who have heard about this city are fascinated by it. Whether it was through “Lost in Translation,” snippets from CNN, or tales of exotic cities that clatter Borders, people who have never been here obtain information about this place, and form their own ideas about it, including that it seems to be constantly busy and alive with neon lights.
Because I have been here for a while, I am more than glad to answer questions regarding what kind of place Tokyo is… That is, if I am able. But when I was asked, “How is it finding love in Tokyo?” I was… well, a bit overwhelmed. Although I am fully aware that Tokyo probably contains more gay people than say, the entire population (32,020) of Monaco, I have only been on one date so far…in about a year. So, when I was asked to write about what I think about the gay dating scene in Tokyo, I really wasn’t sure if I was up for the task, for I am probably not the most qualified person for this topic.
