Parasite Eve

Dr. Hideaki Sena, a PhD in pharmacology and winner of the Japan Horror Award has become a pop-cultural idol thanks to Parasite Eve, his horror novel set in mid 90's Japan. He used his knowledge of biology as the foundation for the story. Those familiar with cellular biology will recognize the technical terms in the novel. Otherwise, the book includes a glossary with explanations. Although the science in Parasite Eve has since progressed, Sena beautifully combines elements of suspense with cutting edge science to create a unique sense of horror.
